The life and work of Jaroslav Svatoň

Jaroslav Svatoň worked all his life in the State Institute of Monument Care and Nature Conservation. During his career, he devoted himself to the registration of monuments, research of medieval plasters, urban heritage reservations, forecasts in the field of heritage conservation, scientific research in this field and the use of the heritage fund in the field of tourism. The aim of the thesis is to capture the personal and professional life of Jaroslav Svatoň and to provide an overview of his work in the field of heritage conservation. To fulfill this goal, I used the historical method, i.e. work with primary sources from the estate of Jaroslav Svatoň, with the records of the professional library and documentation fund of the National Heritage Institute, and with the memories of family members and collaborators of Jaroslav Svatoň. The work is divided into three parts, in the first I describe the personal and professional life of Jaroslav Svatoň. The second part contains the legal framework for the third part, in which I deal with the activities and work of Jaroslav Svatoň in the field of heritage conservation. Thanks to his skills and knowledge gained during many years of experience in the field, he was able to synthesize a huge amount of materials and create prognostic and conceptual materials...

Methods and procedures for the protection of anthropogenic objects of historical human activities in forests

The methodology focuses on the use of information about identification, documentation and presentation of anthropogenic objects - relics of historical human economic activity in forests,. These information result from linking forestry, heritage conservation and archaeology. Anthropogenic objects in forests are mainly old roads, sites of historical raw material extraction, raw material processing objects, abandoned settlements, signs of past coppice management, etc. The reason for the development of the methodology is the fear of loss (damage) of these objects by forestry activities. exacerbated at present by the processing of a bark beetle calamity of big proportions on a substantial part of the Czech Republic. If we accepted damage tor destruction of these objects, we would also accept a loss of cultural and historical heritage of the Czech Republic.

Historic Building as a Museum (Contemporary Architecture and Heritage Conservation Issues)

The master's student will conduct a study dedicated to the question of using heritage objects for the presentation of museum collections with the emphasis on art museums and the possibilities and limits of contemporary architecture. The subject of the thesis will first be explored through a short historical review which will organically connect the history of collecting with the history of architecture and historic preservation. The chosen topic will be further specified through a case study showing some of the issues faced when adapting and using heritage objects for the needs of an art museum. This will be done using the example of the National Gallery in Prague. The core part of the thesis will be a comparative analysis of selected contemporary architecture interventions in historical buildings in the Czech Republic. This will lead to conclusions about the relationship between the generally accepted belief in a cultural - ideally museum - use as a non-conflict ideal of a future life for heritage objects, as well as the opportunities and limits of contemporary architecture in its fulfilment. Selected churches of Jan Václav Kosch in Děčín region from the monument care point of view

This bachelor thesis is focused on three late Baroque churches in the Děčín region from the heritage conservation point of view. Namely the church of St. Wenceslaus in Děčín Rozbělesy, the church of St. Francis Xavier in Děčín Bělá and the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Arnoltice. All three buildings are connected with the name of the regional builder Jan Václav Kosch, whose life and work are briefly discussed in the first chapter. Following are the treatises on individual buildings. For each of them, its history and description are presented, and its current status and the possibilities for future modifications and repairs are evaluated. The aim of the thesis is to draw attention to the poor status of significant regional monuments and to outline possible steps for their renewal.

Management of the Monument focused on Attractive Offer

The objective of the Bachelor's thesis is to design the activity to make the development of selected monument in the medium-term horizon attractive. Within the scope of the thesis i have analyzed the initial state based on the data and I have identified the proposals for their possible real use in a particular heritage property. In the theoretical part of the thesis I focus on defining the concepts of monument care in the Czech Republic, including the body that performs it. That's from 1 January 2003, National Institute of Historical Monuments. In next focusI deal with the management and marketing of historical monuments, namely the state-chateau Telč. In conclusion I will introduce to the reader to the methodology used in this thesis. In the Practical section, I analyze a specific object together with the city and the region where the monument is located. The chapter is used to get a more detailed picture of the status of selected places. Based on the analysis of the result, I have formulated a possible resolve in the following chapter. At the end of the thesis there will be a discussion of other possible solutions that can be found above the frame of this thesis either from the point of view of time (long-term horizon), or from the necessity of binding on european projects.

The public administration in the Free State of Bavaria and the heritage conservation

The objective of the bachelor's thesis is to present the system of heritage conservation in the Federal Republic of Germany as an example of public sector organization. The field of cultural and heritage conservation is under the exclusive competence of the individual federal states, hence the main focus of the thesis at this level of competence. The subject of interest is the Free State of Bavaria. The thesis focuses on the Bavarian legislation, authorities and institutions responsible for heritage conservation and the funding options for the preservation of monuments. The thesis also presents the societies supporting the heritage conservation on the federal level.
